Energy Solutions

The United States is currently the third largest producer of oil, but the nation is quickly losing ground because the most potentially productive oil fields are locked up by a congressional moratorium. We must also do more to develop all alternative energy, recognizing that it will take decades before they are capable of making a real difference in meeting out demand.
America needs MORE ENERGY NOW! It is time we develop a balanced national energy policy that will effectively alleviate high energy prices, increase our national energy security and reduce our reliance on imported oil.

We need congressional action that will allow for the responsible production of MORE ENERGY NOW.

More Oil and Natural Gas Energy Now

  • Lift moratoria on offshore and inland oil and natural gas development
  • Lift moratoria on, and thoughtfully expanding, unconventional resource development
  • Streamline the permitting processes to encourage the creation and expansion of petroleum refineries
  • Promote technological advances in exploration and production of traditional energy resources to ensure further gains environmental stewardship

More Alternative and Renewable Energy Now

  • Recognize long-term development of these resources by creating realistic alternative energy production policies and feasible timelines
  • Streamline the permitting processes to encourage the creation of new and improved alternative energy production facilities, including significant production from wind power, hydro-power, solar facilities and nuclear power
  • Ensure adequate transmission lines to meet the expanding needs of all regions
  • Promote technological advances in wind, solar, hydro power and other forms of alternative energy while recognizing that all energy forms must be utilized

More Energy Efficiency and Conservation Now

  • Create public-private partnerships to make energy efficiency and conservation measures more accessible and affordable for the consuming public
  • Facilitate dialogue among energy industry and consumers groups about how they can work together to increase energy efficiency and conservation

More Energy Education Now

  • Increase government funding for energy education and additional research and development related to both conventional and alternative energy resources to complement private sector investment
  • Increase education outreach to consumers on how to improve energy efficiency and conservation at home and at work
  • Develop a comprehensive U.S. program aimed at maintaining U.S. intellectual competitiveness through education of skilled scientists, engineers and trade professionals needed to ensure a vibrant and progressive energy industry
